Support the programming of Natura 2026, turn culture into lasting impact for the community
In 2026, Palazzo Te launches a new season of programming dedicated to exploring the ways in which, historically and in contemporary times, culture has conceived nature: understood as the origin and fundamental law of the world and the cosmos; as a challenge to our capacity for relationship and communication; and as a field in which imagination and knowledge are tested.
The theme, deeply present in the frescoes of Giulio Romano, connects the palace to the Mantuan territory and, more broadly, to the ways in which nature is conceived in our own time.
At the heart of the year’s programme is the exhibition “Inventare la Natura: da Leonardo ad Arcimboldo”, an exhibition project that traces Renaissance artistic and scientific thought, exploring the ways in which nature was observed, studied, and reinvented. Through drawings, paintings, and references to the visual culture of the period, the exhibition offers a reflection on nature as a cultural construct, a source of wonder, and a site of experimentation.
Starting in February, the annual theme of Nature will expand into a wide cultural programme encompassing music, theatre, and dance, transforming Palazzo Te into a multidisciplinary laboratory. The programme will open with the concert Armonie di Natura by the Nuova Scuola di Musica, launching a series of events designed to interweave different artistic languages interpreted through the annual theme of Nature.
In 2026, Palazzo Te also renews its social commitment through inclusive projects aimed at vulnerable categories and local communities, reaffirming the museum as a space for listening, connection, and wellbeing. Within this framework, the conference “L’Arte che cura”, scheduled for October 2026, takes shape as part of the collaboration between Palazzo Te and ASST Mantova, placing cultural welfare and research on the relationship between heritage, wellbeing, and community at its core.
2026 thus strengthens Palazzo Te’s role as a vibrant and contemporary institution, capable of offering an open cultural vision in which Nature becomes both a lens through which to read the past and a tool for imagining new ways of inhabiting the present.
